Next month a new magazine featuring Wisconsin’s outdoors and environment in all its many facets will make its appearance. The Wisconsin Conservationist Magazine, a digital publication to debut on May 20, will cover a broad range of environmental and conservation topics  important to all of us in the state.

The founder and publisher is Beckie Gaskill, known to many as the outdoor editor for the Lakeland Times newspaper in Minocqua. “The goal is to bridge the gap between consumptive and nonconsumptive user groups through fair and unbiased reporting,” Gaskill says. “The magazine will take in-depth looks at topics from land management, PFAS and PPCPs and other contaminants, to pollinators, wildlife, invasive species, and hunting and fishing opportunities in the state.” For more information, visit on www.WIconservationistmag.com.

In addition to her newspaper writing, Gaskill is the owner of Fish Like a Girl Media and Fish Like a Girl Bait Co. She is also a bass tournament angler and tournament director. Her Fish Like a Girl podcast covers outdoors topics including fishing, hunting, trapping, silent sports, ecology and environment.
